Robert Pattinson was born in London England, on May 14 1986. Growing up he was a highly skilled sportsman, taking part in everything from football and athletics to skiing and snowboarding. Robert first got the acting bug around 15 years old when he started doing amateur plays. He then moved on to join the Barnes Theatre Club and took on stage roles in Macbeth, Anything Goes and Tess of the D'Urbevilles. Robert's first screen role was in the German made for TV Movie Ring of the Nibelungs (also known as Kingdom In Twilight) as Giselher. He then took on the role of Rawdy Crawley in the Reese Witherspoon movie Vanity Fair.
In 2003 Robert Pattinson landed the coveted role of Cedric Diggory in the fourth installment of the Harry Potter movies, The Goblet Of Fire. Robert met the director, Mike Newell in late 2003 and was the first person seen for the role of Cedric, making the call back and getting the part only a week later. His character Cedric is Harry Potter's love rival for Cho Chang, and also competes against Harry as the other Hogwarts' champion in The Triwizard Tournament.
Talking about the forthcoming 'Goblet of Fire' film, he said:
"I think basically the characters have been developed pretty fully in the first three, and it's just going to take another turn into being more of a thriller, it's more boom boom boom, to the climax. I think it's a much faster paced, action-y film than the others. I think that it's a little bit darker, and they kill off key characters. There's always going to be a little bit of a twist - killing someone is always a bit of a shock."
When asked about the reportedly blockbusting final scene in the film, he replied, "That will be the most stunning sequence in the Potter series".
Robert says that his acting inspiration is Jack Nicholson. Robert's creative talents are not just restricted to acting, he is also musical, and is reportedly an excellent musician playing guitar and keyboards. Music must run in the family as his sister is also a singer/songwriter.in a band.
Robert Pattinson was named British Star of Tomorrow by Times Online in 2005, with his oozing charm and likeability we can expect to see much more of him in the future.
