Hedwig. Harry's faithful pet and mail carrier

When Hagrid took Harry to Diagon Alley the day after his eleventh birthday, Harry received the first real birthday
present he'd ever had. Hagrid, an expert on magical creatures of all kinds, decided to get Harry a pet. Toads have long
been out of fashion and cats make Hagrid sneeze, so he bought Harry an owl. Owls are very useful as they carry wizard
mail, even picking up your mail from the post office for personal delivery.
Hagrid chose exceptionally well, and Harry named the beautiful female snowy owl Hedwig, a name he found in A History
of Magic. Hedwig has been Harry's faithful pet and constant companion for all his years at Hogwarts.
