Harry Potter Card Game. Information on the cards & the basic rules of the game. Challenge your friends, and see who really is the best wizard!

Brief Summary

Ok, so here's the Harry Potter Trading Card Game in brief.

Starting a game

  • Each Player has a deck of cards, which must include exactly 60 cards, plus one starting character card.
  • A deck may contain no more than four of any one card, except for lesson cards, of which there may be any number.
  • To begin the game, each player lays their character card. This card may not be removed from play by any means.
  • Each player's deck is then shuffled, and the pile placed face down. Each player draws the top seven cards of their deck for their starting hand.
    The Game begins.

    Playing the Game

  • The order of a turn is as follows.
  • Any actions dictated by cards in play which take place before the turn, happen first.
  • Player draws a card from his/her deck.
  • All of the Player's creatures in play deal damage to the opponent. Damage removes cards from a player's deck, when a player has no more cards, that player is out of the game.
  • Player's actions occur. Each player has 2 actions each turn. Each action may be used individually to play a Lesson, Creature, Spell, Item, Match or Location card, or to draw another card. Alternatively both actions can be used to play a Character or Adventure card.
