Fred and George Weasley. The irrepressible Weasley twins, elder brothers of Ron
 |
Fred and George Weasley
Fred and George Weasley are the infamous Weasley twins. Older than Ron and Ginny, younger than Bill and Charlie, the
Weasley twins are the middle ground of the Weasley children. Infamous at Hogwarts, the pair are inveterate trouble makers
and delight in breaking rules. Driven by a strong anti-authoritarian streak, rather than any actual malice, they are often
acknowledged as being the foremost experts on Hogwarts' extensive network of secret tunnels and hidden passages. This
skill may well have been strongly bolstered by their ownership of the Marauder's Map which they stole from Filch's office
during their first year. Created by Harry's father and his friends, it shows a complete and always accurate map of
Hogwarts, including tiny moving images of all the people in the castle in their current locations.
Fred and George are also the Gryffindor Beaters, valuable members of the house quidditch team. Their love of mischief has
led to their greatest ambition, to open their own joke shop. Despite avid opposition from their mother they have turned
their considerable talents to developing a whole range of items from sweets for getting you out of classes to extendible
ears for eavesdropping on important conversations. Their work is demonstrated very effectively shortly after Dolores
Umbridge becomes Headmistress at Hogwarts, as they first release their entire stock of spectacular indoor fireworks and
then unleash a portable swamp in a corridor. Their exit from Hogwarts after all this is rapidly becoming a school legend,
as they stood in defiance of Umbridge and all she stood for, summoned their broomsticks and soared through a window into
the open air.
